Hollywood gives poetry a boost…
Thanks to The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan’s epic film based on the epic poem, UK poetry sales are soaring, according to an article in The Guardian. Compared to the same peroid in 2025, print sales of Homer’s poem increased 1400% in the four weeks up to July 25, and the ancient Greek may break the record for highest annual sales by a poet in the UK.

Some good news…
The social reading platform Fable is growing rapidly, having surged from 3 million to 5 million registered users since last June when it was acquired by Scribd, Inc. The platform encourages its reader base (which leans young) to read outside of their comfort zones to resist potential echo chambers.

Quote of the week…
“Start before you’re ready.”
