Publisher Sean Manning has decided to end the obligatory use of blurbs at Simon and Schuster’s flagship imprint, arguing that chasing down blurbs takes time away from authors, agents, and editors, and relies too heavily on who knows who rather than letting the author’s talent speak for itself.
